Director Pavel is directing ‘Asur’ which will also feature Jeet and Abir Chatterjee in the lead role. The actress is also in the lead role. The film is expected to release by the end of this year.

Asur: Nusrat Jahan Starts Shooting Of Her Upcoming Film, Returns After Long Break
Actress turned politician Nusrat Jahan, who was busy in her constituency, has been spotted shooting for her upcoming movie Asur. The actress has recently returned from her honeymoon which she enjoyed in Mauritius.   

Pavel is directing ‘Asur’ which will also feature Jeet and Abir Chatterjee in the lead role. The actress is also in the lead role.

According to the Times of India, Nusrat was quoted saying that she is enjoying every moment shooting. Nusrat is playing the character of a regular woman who is a non-practising artist.  The film Asur is a tribute to eminent sculptor Ramkinkar Baij. Apart from Kolkata, the film will be shot in Bolpur.
The film is expected to release by the end of this year.


Jahan's screen debut was in Raj Chakraborty's Shotru. She then appeared in the film Khoka 420, under the banner Eskay Movies. Her other notable movies include Khiladi, with Ankush Hazra, Sondhe Namar Agey, with Rahul Bose and Power, with Jeet under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films.

Nusrat Jahan got married tied the knot with businessman Nikhil Jain on June 19 in Turkey. She was trolled for wearing sindoor (worn by Hindu women) and sari while taking oath in the Parliament. After being badly trolled, Nusrat Jahan had said that she represents an "inclusive India".

Notably, Nusrat contested from Basirhat Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal and won by 3,50,369 votes.
